STARTING SCHOOL PACKS ARE AVAILABLE TO COLLECT
From Wednesday 1st July children's starting school packs are available to collect. To ensure we are maintaining social distancing they will be placed in the school foyer, which can be accessed from the main gate into school. Each book bag is named so please check you only take your child's. While collecting please take the opportunity to sign up to an individual appointment on Thursday 3rd September or Friday 4th September. This will be a chance for you and your child to come into school look around the classroom and meet Mrs. Symonds and Mrs. Anita Clements. Appointments will last approximately 15 minutes and will be a wonderful chance for your child to be ready for school during the week commencing the 7th September. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PEN TO SIGN THE FORM.
Please ensure the forms in the pack which need to be completed are returned to school before the end of the school year, July 17th 2020.

Information to share with your child
Due to COVID-19 our arrangements for children entering into reception are different to normal. Please take the time to share the following book and video clips with your child. This will help them get used to their new classroom.
In their starting school packs I have included a book you and your child can fill with information you would like to share with Mrs Symonds in September. This could be drawings, photos as well as information about their likes and dislikes.

What can I do to help my child before starting in reception?
Parents often ask how to prepare their child for starting in reception. Included in your starting school pack is a checklist to help. Most of the checklist involves your child's independence and love of learning. Everything else will come in time! We have included a laminated name card and whiteboard pen to help them to practice writing their name. If your child is not yet ready to write please work on their ability to recogise their name. Do not be concerned if your child has not returned to a pre-school setting because of COVID-19. We will work together to ensure your child is happy and settled in September.
