All children in Owls and Woodpeckers have a personal log-in for NumBots. This is an excellent resource for boosting addition, subtraction and number bond skills. In order to get the best out of NumBots, children should play for short bursts 3 times a week.
All children in Magpies, Jays and Hawks have a personal log-in for TT Rock Stars. This is an excellent resource for practising times tables and related division facts. We ask that children play for a short bursts three times per week to support their recall of multiplication and division facts. For more information about the different game modes, please refer to the home learning tab.
Hit the Button is an interactive maths game with quick fire questions covering many of the Maths Passport targets including number bonds, times tables, doubling and halving, multiples, division facts and square numbers.
Statutory Multiplication Tables Check
From June 2021, all children in Year 4 will be required to take an online statutory multiplication tables check (MTC).
The purpose of the check is to determine whether pupils can fluently recall their tables up to 12x12.
The MTC is an on-screen check consisting of 25 times tables questions. Children will answer 3 practice questions before moving on to the official check, and will then have 6 seconds to answer each question. On average, the check should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
Twinkl's Multiplication Tables Check Practice is designed especially for practising times tables for the Y4 Multiplication Tables Check. Please click here to access the practice test. You will need to sign-in with the code J H 5 8 7 0
We understand that practising Maths Passport targets with your child can become increasingly more challenging as they move through the passports beyond number bonds and times tables targets (beyond Globetrotter).
Below are some fun, online games that your child can play to practise their targets for the last of the main passports, including Lost Island and Atlantis, as well as for targets for children who have ‘launched to space!’ For some of the trickier targets, there are also links to external sites to develop both you and your child's understanding of how these are taught in school. Great care has been taken to identify appopriate websites, however we cannot accept responsibility for their content. Parents should always supervise their children appropriately when they are using the internet.
Please ask your child’s class teacher if you would like further advice about how you can support your child at home.
