Classroom Check-In Displays
Each class has a morning check-in display, where the children can show how they are feeling when they come into school.
The Owls, Magpies and Jays classes have their check-ins based on The Colour Monster book. The monsters indicate how they are feeling, such as calm, sad, happy or confused, and they place their pictures next to a monster each morning.
This gives the teaching staff an idea of how the children are feeling when they come to school, and if they are feeling angry or sad, the teachers are there to support the children.
The children have been learning about 'feelings' in their PSHE lessons, and what langauge they can use to express how they feel. They have also been learning about the trusted adults they can talk to.
