Sports Day - 15th July 2022 - Super Powered by the Sun for Fun!

Out of the World Experience for the Children to Learn about our Forest, the Evironement & Climate Change.

On the 15th June one of our Parent Governors in collaboration with Wyldwood Arts and Lydbrook Brass Band brought an amazing learning experience to the whole school.  As you can see in the photographs they erected a large black dome in the hall which once inside it embraced all of the children’s senses in learning.

This gave an unique opportunity where the children could explore the Forest that surrounds us.  How we look after it now and for future generations.  They then went on to explore environments further afield in the world from the heat of the desert to the freezing temperatures of the artic... and far into the galaxy of the stars.

The younger children then looked on to learn more about recycling and how it effects the planet - brought to life through the smells of a stink bomb too!  The older children looked more into how Climate Change impacts on the world.

Honestly it was just such a different experience, the children all came out with such big smiles  – thinking out of the box & into the Dome!

Rain did not stop play for the Rounders as the Finale of Sports Week!

Netball Year 6 Vs The Staff - A Close Game 8-8.  The rest of the school cheered on with so much excitment it could have been heard on the moon! Great to be part of making memories with the pupils.

Our Support For The Women's Tour - Cyclist Race Around Britain  - 8th June 2022

On Saturday the 3rd DECEMBER this year the Robins, Owls and Magpies classes have been invited by the performance department of Five acres school, along with a selection of other Forest primary schools, to record a Christmas song to be played on a big screen during the Official Countdown to Christmas with the switching on of the lights.

We do not know at what point during the proceedings the recordings will be played but we will pass on any further information we receive.

This will be a town centre event with stalls, fun fair rides (for young children) and live entertainment. Santa will also be in his clock tower grotto at various times throughout the day.

Event from 1pm.

Parade 5pm.

Switch on 5.30pm.

End 6.30pm.

The Coleford Town Council invest their time and effort into making this a fabulous event with a great atmosphere - all support is very much appreciated.
