8th June 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for supporting your child during their first week back. The children have settled extremely well and we are all happy to be back in class!
As part of the settling in process we have come to recognise the challenges of expecting the reception children to keep a 2 metre distance from staff and their friends. To reflect this, as of Monday 8th June we will be operating a “bubble” system in line with Early Years guidance. This means children will only be in contact with members of this group and use resources exclusive to them. They will not be expected to remain at a distance from their friends in this group whilst at school.
Staff will remain extremely vigilant in keeping children safe whilst they are in our care. To continue to manage the risks we will be executing the following measures:
- Rigorous cleaning of resources and surfaces
- Frequent hand washing overseen by adults
- A catch it, bin it, kill it approach to personal hygiene
If you have any questions please feel free to contact school to discuss the measures further. The relevant guidance can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/preparing-for-the-wider-opening-of-early-years-and-childcare-settings-from-1-june/planning-guide-for-early-years-and-childcare-settings
As the children have responded well to the new expectations, they can now attend 8.50 am to 2.45 pm . They should be dropped off by one carer at the side gate by the lay-by. Please continue to help us by maintaining your social distance whilst waiting at these times.
Children should wear school uniform or PE kit as each day clothes should be washed before it is worn again. If you would like to send your child in shorts or leggings these should be dark and not patterned. The ideal footwear is trainers as we will be accessing the outdoors regularly. Wellies can be sent to school but will need to remain and not be taken home each day.
Thank you for your support.
