Multiplication Tables Check
All children in Year 4 will be required to take an online statutory Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June.
The purpose of the check is to determine whether pupils can fluently recall their tables up to 12x12.
The MTC is an on-screen check consisting of 25 times tables questions. Children will answer 3 practice questions before moving on to the official check, and will then have 6 seconds to answer each question.

When pupils play 'Soundcheck' on TTRockstars, they are asked 25 questions, each with a 6-second time limit. The questions are multiplication only and evenly weighted in terms of difficulty each time they play - exactly the same as the MTC.
